Coaching and healthcare

  • RRCA Level II Certified Run Coach: An advanced professional designation earned through a rigorous multi-day curriculum and comprehensive examination. Beyond the classwork and exam, Sarah completed 15 specialized continuing education courses, ensuring her programming is built on the most current research in run physiology, biomechanics, and endurance performance. She has been certified as a Level I coach since 2020 and earned her Level II in 2026

  • Exercise Physiologist : High-level working knowledge of exercise prescription, including VO2 max optimization, cardio-pulmonary health, nutrition and targeted strength and conditioning.

  • Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA): Licensed in Massachusetts and Texas, Sarah leverages her clinical background to prioritize sound run mechanics and evidence-based injury prevention.

  • Advanced Continuing Education: Sarah completes 12 hours of specialized clinical CEUs annually to maintain PTA licensure, ensuring training advice aligns with the latest research in running and female athlete health.

Psychology

  • Former Psychology Lecturer: Taught psychology at the college level, covering courses such as Cognitive Psychology, Biological Psychology, and Research Methods.

  • The Psychology of Success: As an instructor of this course, Sarah used her knowledge in Applied Psychology to help students master the science behind willpower, discipline, and overcoming procrastination. She finds many of the principles apply to athletes and loves to share her knowledge.

  • Mental Performance: Sarah teaches athletes how to navigate the "mental miles," manage race-day anxiety, and build the confidence needed to hit aggressive goals.

Community Leadership & Philanthropy

  • Houston Harriers: Sarah serves as the Vice President of this long-standing non-profit running club, dedicated to fostering a competitive and supportive running community in Houston.

  • Race Direction for a Cause: As the Race Director for the Coach Andy Stewart 30K, Sarah oversees all logistics for this non-profit event, where 100% of the proceeds are donated to the Rainbow Room to provide emergency supplies for children and families in crisis.

  • Advocacy through Endurance: Sarah believes in running for a purpose greater than herself. When her 50-mile ultramarathon was canceled in 2020, she organized a self-supported 50-mile run at Memorial Park, raising $2,500 for A Second Cup, a Houston non-profit dedicated to ending human trafficking.

  • Chevron Houston Marathon "Run for a Reason": Following her grassroots fundraising success, Sarah was approached by A Second Cup to partner with them for the Houston Marathon. For two consecutive years, she provided free coaching for a team of 15 athletes each year who committed to fundraising for the cause, successfully guiding them to the finish line while supporting the mission to end human trafficking.

  • Service-Driven Coaching: Her deep involvement in these organizations ensures that her coaching brand is rooted in the belief that running should not only transform the athlete but also strengthen the community.
